“Walking Truly in Love”

What does it mean to walk in love in the truest sense? This has been on my heart the last couple of days so I’m feeling it is time to take a look at this today.

“I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children walking in the truth, just as we were commanded by the Father. And now I ask you, dear lady, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning, that we love one another. And this is love, that we walk according to his commandments; this is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, so that you should walk in it.” (2 John 4-6 ESV)

We are to love one another in deed and truth. So this implies steps of action on our part and and a sense of basis and foundation for those steps. May we live and walk with the basis for our motives and intentions being centered in what God has to say about us and consequently how we are to walk out our daily lives. May we not only love in this truth but know that the truth of what God has to say is fully alive and activated within us every moment. May grace mercy and truth prevail within us and may we abide in the teachings of Jesus and in the examples He left with us.

“I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”
(Ephesians 4:1-6)

As we bear with one another we are to share in or help carry the load of one another’s burdens thus encompassing the law of Christ, which is fulfilling the royal law of love which we are to as a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, to fulfill in order to proclaim the virtues of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light. (2 Peter 2:9 ESV)

Let us not go looking for or being drawn to focus on the differences that tend to separate us or on what seems to be wrong or not going so well in our life.
“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”
(Philippians 4:8, ESV)

May we be eager to seek out that which unites us and brings a wholesomeness to our relationships in life. In a humble and gentle spirit may we patiently overlook, work though and endure our differences in opinions, preferences, culture, etc. This is the beginning of developing and cultivating a lifestyle that is Christ honoring and fulfilling.

What was Jesus’ great priestly prayer for each of us? Was it not to declare the following; “these things I speak in the world, that they may have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them your word, and the world has hated them because they are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, so I have sent them into the world. And for their sake I consecrate myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth.

May we all be one, just as the, Father, is in Jesus, and He in us, that we also may be in Him, so that the world may believe that He has been sent and come from the Father. The glory that the Father gave Him, that we may be one even as we The Father and Jesus are one, He in us and us in Him, that we may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that He sent us forth and loves us even as He loves the Father.

May the goodness of God be clearly seen and genuinely displayed in the lives we live and as we walk them out. Let us as sons and daughters of God, be a people set apart for His glory and as we do so, be changed into the same from glory unto glory even as by the Spirit of the Lord. Is this not truly being “in love” and living to live, to love?

“Divinely Designed”

Without God’s “active presence in your life, life will naturally steal away your identity. This is true for believers and non-believers alike. Life is to be good however it is also filled with struggle, pain, loss, disappointment, and rejection.

Jesus came because we are lost. We need His active presence in our life. Life has a way of stealing from us who we are, however we are brought to the presence of God in order to be restored.

This restoration does not come by way of an experience within itself. You need to hear what God is saying to you and you must receive it by faith. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Romans 10:17) We do not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God. (Matthew 4:4)

You have to be in His Word. You have to be willing to receive from the other people God brings into you life such as in church and through how you connect with those of His church. You have to be chasing after everything He says to you so the mystery of you begins to manifest. You cannot be a Word unto yourself. You can’t make yourself into something that God has not made you to be. You are to become what God says that you are and what He has spoken over you.

The Word is the catalyst to our ability to be filled by His divine purpose and destiny which breathes the inspiration into us. God’s breath (His Holy Spirit, that restores our identity, yet are we aligning with his Word to receive that breath?

“And in the last days it shall be, God declares,
that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh,
and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,
and your young men shall see visions,
and your old men shall dream dreams;
even on my male servants and female servants in those days I will pour out my Spirit, and they shall prophesy. (Acts 2:17-18 ESV)

To prophecy is to “speak” what God has/is speaking or has spoken to you. As sons and daughters of God, we are to speak into life what God is saying about who we are. We thus become God’s voice in the earth. All things are possible to those who believe.
(Mark 9:23) Receiving God’s Word to you and prayer are just part of the picture. It is being active in the presence of God where the flesh is silenced that our level of authority increases.

I believe God, therefore I am what He says. Everything I am intended to possess in life will come by what I believe. What I believe will be revealed by what I speak. What I speak will determine where and how I will be directed in life. What you believe is what you become.

What does your testimony speak of you? You are either agreeing with God or you are resisting him. Are you actively in the presence of God or seeking such? They who worship God must do so in Spirit and in Truth. Some worship the contrary; what they know not. Don’t be given over imagination and what you understand or think in your mind. You need a greater authority than yourself.

You can only be what God made you to be, not necessarily what you want to be. Why compete with that which is not you? He who compares him or herself with another is not wise. Remember that you are uniquely designed by God. God desires that you be thus as He designed. Don’t therefore resign to less. So where are you right now?

“Oh, how He Loves Us”

The love that Jesus holds for you and I is beyond what our minds can comprehend, more than most can even begin to fathom.

Behold what manner of love the Father has given unto us, that we should be called the sons and daughters of God.

He gave His life to make us whole, shedding His blood for all,
Healing the body, saving the soul, so that all may come, for mercy call.

What we in glory soon shall be, it does not yet appear;

But when our precious Lord we see, the seal of His love we shall bear fully to be.

More than we can imagine indeed!

In His prayer to the Father he said “I made known to them your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which you have loved me may be in them, and I in them.” (John 17:26)

The love of Christ overwhelms me, overtakes and encompasses all that I be,

More than I can see. Frees life from within; may His glory be greater known.

I find myself feeling what Paul expressed; “Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.” (Philippians 3:12)

This song often in my heart, I find myself singing, “I Stand in Awe of You”

You are beautiful beyond description
Too marvelous for words
Too wonderful for comprehension
Like nothing ever seen or heard
Who can grasp Your infinite wisdom?
Who can fathom the depth of Your love?
You are beautiful beyond description
Majesty, enthroned above
And I stand, I stand in awe of You
I stand, I stand in awe of You
Holy God, to whom all praise is due
I stand in awe of You.

Bringing me into the place where love abounds far beyond words I can bring or sing.

“Restoring our Spiritual Well Being”

We live in a day and time when many go about to establish their own righteousness. Each having a tendency to lean towards doing what is right in their own eyes. A righteousness based upon a spirit of religion is not what God seeks from His sons and daughters. What He does seek is a righteousness of faith; in His Word, a worship in Spirit and truth with sincerity of heart that seeks out and draws His presence and a warfare that earnestly contends for the faith once delivered to the saints from the Cross.

Such Word releases transformation and freedom by God’s revelation. Such worship reveals our true passion for the presence and love of the Lord. Such warfare brings Jesus’ loving reign to bear on every battle front.

From the Word comes every other reality in the Kingdom of God. This is what will truly bring Heaven to touch earth in a lasting and permeating way.

It is all centered in the relationship of God’s sons and daughters with Him and with each other.

“For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?’
(1 Peter 4:7)

And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,

“This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds,”

Then he adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”

Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.

Let us draw near in the “Full Assurance of Faith”. There is no room for compromise on this.

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the holy places by the blood of Jesus, by the new and living way that he opened for us through the curtain, that is, through his flesh, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works.
(Hebrews 10:15-24)

Are we drawing near as we are being led by His Spirit; in His Word, in our worship and in our warfare?

“Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his holy place?
He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to what is false and does not swear deceitfully.
He will receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.
Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek the face of the God of Jacob.” (Psalm 24:3-6)

“Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord. The peace that passes all understanding that shall keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Yes we must get beyond confines of our own understanding which we are not to lean upon. (Proverbs 3:4) All of our fullest trust must be placed in God alone.

What I am stating here this morning may be hard for some to receive, however I sense the call of God to address it here in this day and hour. May you hear the urgency of the Spirit of God that we be a people called out; “a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.’
(1 Peter 2:9)

What keeps us from responding to this call? It is a matter of unbelief that infects all of mankind like a virus. We can be readily or subtly deceived to believe and accept less than what God’s Word declares that we are. We face issues of spiritual discernment with God, ourselves, others, and in the times we live. We are deceived because we don’t know we are deceived. Deception robs us of our authority and true identity.

When we truly live and act as “a child of God” we can trust in his response.

“Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4) With what do our desires align with?

God is a good Father. (Luke 18:1-8)
Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray.
Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise.
Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed fervently that it might not rain, and for three years and six months it did not rain on the earth. Then he prayed again, and heaven gave rain, and the earth bore its fruit.

May God teach us how to pray again and pray like never before. What God asks of us is only accomplished as Jesus said, through prayer and fasting. (Matthew 17:21) Being truly separated unto Him and aligned with his heart.

May we be encouraged to seek God on this matter and prepare the way of the Lord for Jesus’ return. He who has an ear to hear, let him hear what the Spirit says unto the church.

“For what do you Wait?”

Have you felt as though your life has stopped or been held up in some way for a period of time? Perhaps you’ve been through a dry period where life has become a desert or wilderness? With God, nothing in the way of our circumstances are permanent or fixed. Life is intended to be fluid and there is to be movement. There is preparation and there is purpose to be fulfilled in each and every one of us. So what God allows to come into our lives many times is to strengthen and equip us to be who God intended for us to be. In the point of our greatest test through our weakest points and moments many times is when His strength is perfected. For what do you wait?

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will hear you. You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you, declares the Lord, and I will restore your fortunes and gather you from all the nations and all the places where I have driven you, declares the Lord, and I will bring you back to the place from which I sent you into exile.” (Jeremiah 29:11-14 ESV)

Just as the 70 years of exile for Israel came to an end, so does your period of captivity and exile that has sidelined you, reach an end. Your 70 years are ending and your deliverance is at end. No longer in the future, but right now is your moment of opportunity to believe God for what may seem inconceivable to you or impossible. “And without faith it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him.” (Hebrews 11:6 ESV)

God has plans that involve a hope and future for you without exception. So call upon Him now and believe. He will hear you right now from exactly where you are at. Jesus already did all the work for you at the Cross. all you have to do is agree with God and say “yes” to his saving grace. Just say “yes”. You have been found and He is ready to restore unto you the years that have robbed you of your joy and well being.
Where your time of captivity has driven you, it is time to come out of seclusion. Your time of hiding or being hidden is over. God is ready to bring you back and fully restore what the locust has consumed over time and circumstance.

This is addressing someone today that is reading this. Today is your day of salvation. However you must respond. You don’t have become something more first or you don’t have to wait for something to change. He who the Son sets free is free indeed. “For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.” (Galatians 5:1) If any man be in Christ He is a new creation. Old things are passed away and all becomes new. 2 Corinthians 5 :17) So will you just say “yes” to God right now?

See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. (1 John 3:1)

Where charity and love, there is God. There Christ joins us together with Him. Let us be found in there. Let us draw near and love the living God in full assurance of faith.

At the same time, therefore, when we are gathered as one with Christ, let us not be divided in mind. In the center, in the name of Jesus may all darkness and resistance flee.

Behold in open face the glory or goodness of the Lord; from glory unto glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.

The joy that is immense and good, is before you and awaits your acceptance.
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. (Luke 4:18)
Jesus is here and present to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound. Today is your opportunity.

At The Father’s Table

If you are hungry then you eat that which has substance and it goes a long way. You eat that which will stay with you so that you may remain steadfast and endure the patience of accomplishing the work at hand.

“Do not work for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you. For on him God the Father has set his seal.” (John 6:27)

“What must we do, to be doing the works of God?” Jesus answers this, “This is the work of God, that you believe in him whom he has sent.” Jesus said many a time that had meat to eat that was not understood among most. His meat was to do the will of the Father. So do what the Father shows you He is doing.

Does this sound too simple that it’s message is overlooked, passed over or simply dismissed? So we go looking for a sign to affirm. Wait a moment. Go back, for the already provided is the way, truth and life. (See John 14:26)

“For the bread of God is he who comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.”
(John 6;33)

“Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst. But I said to you that you have seen me and yet do not believe. Seeing the unseen is unto Eternal value. By faith, are you rescued and secured through the grace of God. This is the gift of God, not of any work or effort of your own. Grasping and clinging to the temporal will not last as in it you grow weary and your strength does not get you to your destination.

Jesus said “all that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out. That which is Eternal is never lost.

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will but the will of him who sent me. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” (John 6:37-40)

Jesus continues; “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

“It is written in the Prophets, ‘And they will all be taught by God.’ Everyone who has heard and learned from the Father comes to me. Not that anyone has actually seen the Father except he who is from God; he has seen the Father. (Jesus)

Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life. I am the bread of life.

Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and they died. This is the bread that comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die. I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. And the bread that I will give for the life of the world is my flesh.”

Who came from God and became flesh and dwelt among men? Only one, that being Jesus. Who created the heavens and the earth? “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. (John 1:1-4)

The Eternal living Words of God are the substance by which all things consist. This is Eternal substance. “For in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him.” (Colossians 1:17)

Jesus states, “Whoever feeds on my substance and drinks from that which is secured in and by my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day. For my substance is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever feeds on my substance and drinks of my blood abides in me, and I in him. As the living Father sent me, and I live because of the Father, so whoever feeds on me, he also will live because of me.

“It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe.”
(John 6:63)

You have a standing invitation to the Father’s table. From what are you partaking in life?

Passage out of Darkness and into Light

For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery. A yoke is something you allow to be placed upon you. It is not true to your nature. It resists life’s flow. If any man be in Christ he or she is a new creation; old things are passed away and all things become new. What have you been wearing that is only serving to weigh you down and press upon your very being that your freedom to move through life is being restrained?

Does this weight bring a sense of condemnation upon your very being? Is it making you to feel less than God declares that you are?

What reigns in your life today? Is it the Spirit of life, the goodness of God setting and keeping you free or is it the law of sin that you give place to or or is it the the law of death?

There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. For the law of the Spirit of life has set you free in Christ Jesus from the law of sin and death. (Romans 8:1,2)

What might you might be allowing to be placed upon you that is contrary the nature of the identity that God declares that is who He says that you are?

“So if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort from love, any participation in the Spirit, any affection and sympathy, complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.”
(Philippians 2:1,2)

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

Is there conflict in your life? Is the practice of life that you are perhaps trying to walk out in double mindedness? This can leave you in a valley of decision not knowing which way to turn, in a wilderness of wandering with no direction of purpose, or in and endless sea of despair and discouragement because you have lost your way.

Does any of this ring a bell within you? I can attest to having been there myself and it encompassed many months of my life yet today I have chosen to be set free of such. “Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men.” (Philippians 2:5-8)

“And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (Philippians 2:8-11)

At the name of Jesus, every thought taken captive, every condition or disease in the body must surrender. Whatever that is out of alignment in your life must come back into alignment with the Word of God.

“For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities all things were created through him and for him.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

You and I are called “out of darkness” and “into this marvelous light”. The darkness cannot prevail at the name of Jesus. The darkness must bow at this name; the name above all names. Then declare this. Believe this absolutely and fully step into it by faith. Be that which the Word of God declares that you are. Remember your true identity. God’s Holy Spirit, the comforter shall bring you into remembering all the Words of God spoken into you. Give Him place.

The Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth. His glory simply stated, is His goodness; the goodness of God. Born again in his likeness is your true identity.

For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.
“But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. Once you were not a people, but now you are God’s people; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.
(1 Peter 2:9)

His mercies are new, new every morning. Every day can be a new beginning on a brand new clean slate. Why not choose now? Why wait a moment longer? Gain or have restored the singleness of mind that that is complete, sound and clear in Christ Jesus. He is the way, the truth and the life; the only road to true freedom. Choose to be and remain in such freedom wherein the fruit of the Spirit is abiding and love, joy, peace prevailing; then all is truly well once again. Behold, all things can be new again!
