Compelling Love

As a city set upon a hill I pause to look over the vast valley below. In me a shepherd’s heart expands and wells up with compassion; one I did not ask for. I used to be introverted, quiet and I kept to myself. God had plans of his own for me and changed all of that. He has sent here to meet with you, here on this page. You are not here by happenstance but rather by divine appointment, whether you acknowledge this or not. Now my heart feels the weight of compassion for those who have lost their bearings and means to navigate life. I bring a love story that stems from a masterpiece of such grand proportions that the only way you will know the ending is to stay along for the journey and we can finish hopefully together.

How many today say they will only seek God if He shows them miraculous signs like Jesus did? It seems our nature demands that we see physical signs before we will place our belief and trust in establishing truth upon we what we will be willing to take steps of action towards. Jesus declared “blessed are they who have not seen yet believed”. In those who would seek to draw near to God, He says that without faith it is impossible to please Him but we must believe that He is and a rewarder of those that diligently seek Him. (Hebrews 11:6)

Just prior to the feast of Passover that preceded Jesus’ crucifixion, there were those who went up to worship at the feast at Jerusalem. Due to the previous miracle in which Jesus did in raising Lazurus from the dead, there were multitudes seeking to see Jesus.” Philip went and told Andrew; Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. And Jesus answered them, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified”.

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it to this world, and whoever hates his life in this world will save it for eternal destiny. If anyone serves me, he must follow me; and where I am, there will my servant be also. If anyone serves me, the Father will honor him.

Something in us must die before we can release the tangible in life as being our frame of reference. This by which we see and feel and therefore base our assumptions as to what we will do or not; this being the “evidence” where upon we will act out our choices. If we love and cling to “that evidence” Jesus says we will die in it.

Whosoever will loose or release “that evidence” as their basis for taking active steps to advance toward something greater than their current self will gain and keep their life therein unto eternal gain. So are you going to follow “what you know” based upon your own understanding or are you willing to trust God for something greater than you and a life greater and beyond your current knowing?

Will you choose life or will you choose death? It is one or the other friend; there is no in-between where you can sit on the fence and wait for life to come to and embrace you. Without your decisive action there is no real transformation. What you don’t need is more ‘so-called change” that will merely bring the satisfaction to where you say “okay I am going through the motions so God and the world can reward me” as I take pride in being a “self made man” who did it all on his own. How is that working for you right now? You might be experiencing a temporary sense of success but what guarantee can you place on deriving from your own understanding alone it’s continuance? In life there are no such guarantees. You can get thrown some nasty curve balls from which on your own resources alone may never recover from.

Now, in such an instance we hope that we have something beyond ourselves. At least not having to carry the entire weight upon on own shoulders would be welcomed. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
(Ecclesiastes 4:10)

Let’s return to the narrative from John 12 picking up in verse 27b, from which I am drawing my reference.

Jesus said “But for this purpose I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven: “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.” The crowd that stood there and heard it said that it had thundered. Others said, “An angel has spoken to him.” Jesus answered, “This voice has come for your sake, not mine.

“A wicked and adulterous generation seeks after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas”. Let me say again; “A generation evil and adulterous does seek a sign, and a sign shall not be given to it, except the sign of Jonah the prophet;’ Jonas warned Ninevah in his day. Time always runs out in life’s temporal matters. You hear the call and respond to grace or you may not be able to redeem the time when the clock runs out; just saying. (You can read the account in the book of Jonas in God’s Word) God’s mercy in the midnight hour! After addressing the crowd, Jesus left them; he went away.
Do you know why He walked away? Because they could not see him for who He was and much the same is true today. If you approach God for merely what “He can do for you” and if you are not moving out of a heart filled with His love then don’t you think He sees that? He wants you to know his love for you. That is God’s agenda. What is yours? Is it just to get ahead in life at any cost? Has your life become broken, shattered or perhaps a wreck of some sorts? Is your life unable to meet your heart’s cry for lasting fulfillment, coming up short, or just plain empty?

Do you know what it is to fully loved; to not feel alone when life crashes in on you? That has in fact been my greatest quest in life. I never felt fulfilled in love. That added to the equation in destroying my marriage 14 years ago. My life went in a downward spiral after that. You didn’t know that did you? He that knows not love knows not how to love. What a miserable plight. “Beloved, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God’s love was revealed among us: God sent His one and only Son into the world, so that we might live through Him. (1 John 4:8)

God wants you to know His love. That is His agenda. Again I ask what is your agenda and how is that working for you right now? As to God’s agenda; this is from what I have been writing to you. There has been a departure for larger part from the true and pure and unfiltered gospel of Jesus Christ. I lay my life down to bring this message to you. What I started presenting you in recent days, in particular, yesterday, is not a message that is very popular among much of today’s mindset.

God is restoring the bride of His Son right now, rekindling a radical love that has been lost amidst programmed religion. I hope you will not walk away because this doesn’t tickle your customary desires. This radical love I have been endeavoring to present to you will far exceed anything you could imagine or think. The thought that you might by chance be missing out on this breaks my heart. I can see who stays and who is walking away thanks to technology. I am relentless in this pursuit of Jesus regardless of what I see or feel. I don’t need affirmation or recognition. His love in me seeks to apprehend the heart of your soul. His love compels me relentlessly and I shall never stop until I breath my last breath. God’s agenda is the only agenda I seek now. Nothing else can come before it.

None of us are separate from one another. Some just choose to put up boundaries to self-protect their own insecurities. What does that gain them? This just keeps them isolated and alone; right where the enemy of their soul purposes to keep them bound. Is that you? Until you surrender those apprehensions and fears at the foot of the cross you will likely continue feeling very alone and unsupported. Will you at least come to the foot of the cross and be willing sit there until you can open to the Father’s heart? The Father’s love is just matchless. Nothing can compare. There are no “fixes” or person that will fulfill your inner most need. The gospel fully applied at the cross is our only hope of true transformation.

Take it from one who has tried to go it on his own. I crashed and burned big time. Jesus picked me back up and brought home a prodigal that wandered empty and searching for a decade and a half and restored me to the Father. That is quite the story in itself. He who is given much loves much. My heart is a reservoir that cannot long be contained from forging rivers of living water that issue out and flow to the parched and weary. I am here on divine assignment and shall remain until God indicates otherwise. I hope and pray that you will stay on this journey with me. We will continue this next time as we meet on this page. See you then! God bless you!
